A different approach
I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.
A health coach (or health counselor) is a wellness guide and supportive mentor. Together, we’ll work to achieve your goals in areas such as weight management, food cravings, sleep and energy. Through working with me, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the foods and lifestyle choices that work best for you and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health.

The Integrative Nutrition food pyramid focuses on nourishing food and lifestyle choices. Our wellness pyramid emphasizes the importance of high quality vegetables, fruits, complex carbohydrates, proteins, healthy fats and water. To complete the picture, the pyramid is surrounded with lifestyle factors that create optimal heath: relationship, career, physical activity and spirituality.
The well-being state of the person can not be achieved by simply working on physical attributes, not by the food and exercise alone can we achieve our well-being state.
Everyone is a star! We are all created equal and this state is represented by the pentagon inside our star. The pentagon represents our innate being, unaltered, incorruptible, unchangeable, can not be destroyed always constant and existing beyond our lifetime.
Our innate being has two major category attribute; inherent and coherent. Our inherent attributes are: spiritual,nutritional,physical,emotional and legacy. Our coherent attributes are: religion,financial,environmental,social and career. Each attribute makes our star based on our own assessment. The image on the upper left shows the image of our state of well-being with the coherent and inherent attributes illustrated. This is our SELF PSCENsR tool. Start assessing your Life STAR and see how it looks. The process will help you receive new insights and be able to tune in to the areas of your life needing reinforcement. This is your weapon in your journey to your well-being state. Always remember that your Life STAR is your responsibility. Discussed below is not based on the order of category or importance but based on the acronym SELF PSCENsR for easy recollection.
How to assess you Life STAR:
Download and Print the SELF PSCENsR. Print and get an pen then find your spot. Tune in to your innate being by doing this breathing exercise. Sit erect on the chair, the sole of your feet touching the floor to be at the state of ultimate relaxation. Breathe in to your nose following the breath in a wavelike motion bringing your shoulder slightly backwards as your chest and belly expands. Counting 1-5 breathe in the chest then 6-10 holding your breath expanding your belly. Exhale through you mouth squeezing the air in your belly through a wavelike motion expelling the air out, bringing your chest and shoulders slightly inward. Do it twice and you should be all set feeling relaxed and focused.
Now rate the areas of your life according to your own standards not by other people nor the society in general. Ten being the highest. Ask your self, what is a ten rating to you? Your star can easily show which area/s of your life needs support. Step # 1 - KNOW your being.
- Understanding your body, soul and spirit is a process of tuning in to your being, food is for the body and feelings is for the soul.
- Feed your body with the right food so it can function well. Eat the food that will give you enough energy, boost your immune system and reset to its original healthy state, but first of all we need to do some cleansing.
- We do not create healthy body by eating the right food alone. The food that you eat affects your mind, your mind affects your emotion affects your body and so it goes round and round. By tuning in to your soul, you can understand your body better and be able to help you to combat hormonal imbalances and other foreign invaders that give you diseases. When you are attuned to your soul your creativity is at work.
- Relearning your bio-individuality will help you communicate well with your body. You can identify which food is best for you and which is not. Past experiences with various food you have eaten will help you identify what is best for you.
